FALL SKILL & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
|
|
|
Tustin AYSO is pleased to offer another Fall Skill & Development program to help our players improve their skills. We’ve hired professional trainers
to help run this program and to make sure that everyone stays safe.
Strict guidelines have been implemented to avoid all contact between children and coaches. This Includes drink breaks, ensuring thorough washing of
hands after every restroom visit and no child-to-child contact during activities and rest breaks.
During water breaks, each child will have their own allocated ‘rest grid’ to ensure children maintain social distance.
Trainers will have their own hand sanitizer and wear a face mask throughout the sessions, unless local & state departments of health confirm
that it is safe to work without them. All trainers will maintain social distance from all participants.

Policies/rules for your Training & Conditioning sessions below:
*MASKS: must be worn by everyone checking in and also by the players to the training fields and when leaving the field at the end of the training
session time. PLAYERS will not be mandated to wear masks DURING practice times, as we have created a small group camp setting for this purpose.
(COACHES will wear masks throughout the entire training session)
*CHECK-IN: You will need to complete and sign a training waiver on the first day of dropping off your youth player(s). Please provide information as to
who will be dropping off and picking up during the training session. Check-in will be at the canopy tent and/or table.
*TEMPERATURE CHECKS: Players will be required to have a temporal no-touch temperature check upon check-in as recommended by the CDC, the State of
California and AYSO. (If your child is ill, feels ill, is coughing, has a temperature, or has been possibly exposed to COVID-19 please email us and keep your
player home for the health of the community as well as your player).
*EQUIPMENT: Please have your player bring their OWN Soccer ball to each training session (this is extremely important, as we CANNOT supply soccer balls,
equipment sharing is prohibited). They also must wear cleats, shin guards and comfortable training attire. AYSO will supply the cones and equipment
used for training sessions, but PLEASE have your player bring their soccer ball. MASKS must be worn at check in every camp day and upon leaving the
field (we will have a few disposable masks for any PLAYERS that are not equipped with one, but would appreciate your player having their own if possible).
**ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDED ITEMS:
- Water
- Hand Sanitizer
- Granola, fruit or small snack item

Some of the activities that will be performed - non contact & socially distanced
Warm ups/ Cardio
Each player has their own grid 15 feet long and 10 feet wide. Each grid has 5 cones in a straight line.
Players move through the cones using various movements. Shuffles, forwards then backwards, move through the cones backwards or any movement the coach
designates. Once they move the cones they sprint/jog back to their start positions to repeat. Change movements through cones every couple mins.
This drill is non-contact or opposed. Players will be constantly social distancing.
Long Range Passing
A 60 feet by 50 feet area is set up. Area is split into lanes 30 paces long and 10 paces wide. There is a player on each end of the lane. Player 1
passes to player 2. First the passes are on the ground then we progress to passing in the air. Stationary ball for the first part then progress to
players take a touch then pass to player, finally players are no touch passes.
This drill is non-contact or opposed. Players will be constantly social distancing.
Moving and Passing
Area is split into several lanes 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. Cones are zig zagged through the lane approx. 8 paces apart. Two players in each lane
they start on different cones.
Player 1 passes to player 2 who then moves to the next cone in front of them to receive a pass from player 1 who also does the same. Players pass to
each other and move to the next cone to receive a pass until they reach the end of the zig zag. They repeat by returning back to the start with the
same passing and moving.
This drill is non-contact or opposed. Players are socially distanced at all times.
Dribbling, passing, movement
Area is split into 3 to 4 lanes. Lanes are 25 feet long and 20 feet wide. Lane is split into thirds. Left third lane, right third lane and central third
lane using cones. There is a goal at the end of the lanes.
Players must move down the lane staying in their lanes whilst passing between each other. After 10 seconds whoever has the ball must shoot at the goal.
Players then repeat. Rotate the players in the lanes every few mins.
This drill is non-contact and unopposed. Players are socially distanced at all times.
Control
Each player has their own square 10 feet wide and 10 feet long. Each player has a ball in their square. On coaches command players toss the ball into
the air and control it before the ball hits ground. Use different parts of the body and foot to control the ball based on coaches instructions.
This drill is unopposed and non-contact. Players are socially distanced at all times.
Passing
Area is divided into squares 25 feet long and 25 feet wide. There is a player at the top of the square and one at the bottom of the square. A third player
is in the middle. Player 1 passes to the middle player who receives and turns to pass to player 2. Player 2 passes the ball straight back to the middle
player who turns passes to player 1 and so forth. Change middle player after a couple mins.
This drill is unopposed and non-contact. Players are socially distanced at all times.
