About AYSO

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is the oldest national youth soccer program in the United States. AYSO was established in 1964 with only nine teams by a handful of soccer enthusiasts out of a garage in Torrance, California. They wanted to make sure American kids were introduced to the beautiful game. Five decades later, AYSO has thriving programs in nearly 900 communities all over the country. Today, AYSO is a National Association of the United States Soccer Federation, and is the largest soccer club in the world with more than 50,000 teams and 500,000 players, and more than 6 million alumni!

AYSO is made up of 14 Sections. Each Section is divided into Areas, and within each Area are about 7-12 different Regions (community and city-based leagues). There are well over 1,000 different Regions across the country.

About Tustin Region 96

	Tustin AYSO is a Platinum-rated AYSO region. Each year, AYSO assesses the regions based on the quality, diversity and character of their programs and volunteers. Tustin AYSO is proud to have once again earned Platinum status, the highest award level available.
	Tustin is in Section 11, which covers the area from south Los Angeles County to the Mexican border, and east to the Arizona border. Section 11 has 8 Areas.
	Tustin is in Area Q, which also covers the Central Orange County cities and surrounding communities of Yorba Linda, North and South Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, and Corona Del Mar. Tustin is designated Region 96. The short form of this is written as 11/Q/96.
	Tustin AYSO was founded as a pilot region in 1976 and received full charter status in 1979. We have approximately 2,800 players per year and are one of the 20 largest Regions in the country. Tustin AYSO is the ONLY Youth Soccer Club in Tustin to have more than 2800 players with 40 years experience to support EVERYONE PLAYS(tm) to have leagues for 4-19 year olds to have recreational, all-star, select, and elite club-level teams to include professional coaches to offer many skills clinics emphasizing player development to offer Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter programs to provide goalkeeper training whose primary interest is the development of your child (instead of $$$) with accredited coach certification at every age to require background information of every coach and referee to provide soccer for special needs players with balanced teams, positive coaching and good sportsmanship in a SAFE and FUN FAMILY environment and part of the nationwide American Youth Soccer Organization.
