Tustin AYSO Region 96

Tustin Fire EXTRA (Fall season)

Tustin Fire (EXTRA) teams are highly-competitive select teams for divisions 9U - 16U. Players are evaluated at the tryouts held in February and March by professional evaluators. Player selection is reviewed and approved by the APP Player Review.

The primary league season is in Fall, although many EXTRA teams begin training and attend tournaments in summer. During the Fall season, Tustin Fire players may not participate in the Fall core program and may not play for another club. Tustin Fire teams compete in the AYSO Section 11 EXTRA Circuit against other Regions' EXTRA teams. Post-season playoffs are in December and January.
Teams that win the EXTRA post-season Champions Cup tournament advance to the Western State
Championships in mid-March.

Many Fire teams continue to play during the "Spring Select" season from March through May. Click the Tustin Fire logo above or see our Fire (EXTRA) page for more information about tryouts and teams.

All-Stars (Winter Season)

Players participating in the Fall core program may be recommended to be considered for an All Star team. Each AYSO Region in Area 11Q will form an All Star team to compete with one another during winter league. No official tryouts are held to be selected for a Tustin AYSO All Star team as players are observed throughout the fall core season. Due to limited size of roster and other variables, not all recommended players are guaranteed to be placed on an All-Star team.

Players are selected based on their overall performance in the fall core program, including good sportsmanship. Teams are formed starting in October and finalized in November. Teams compete in mid-December in our Region's All Star Tournament against other All Star teams. League season begins in early January and ends in early February. All Star teams that win the Area 11Q All Star season advance to the Section 11 Championships in mid-February.

Teams that win the Section 11 Championships advance to the Western State Championships in mid-March. Many All Star teams continue to play in the "Spring Select" season that runs from March through May. Click the All Stars logo above or see the All Stars page for more information.

Spring Select (Spring Season)

The spring select season involves divisions 9U - 16U, and runs from March to May. This is a select league where teams are formed by the coaches and compete at a level considered to be of All-Star or higher caliber.  It is mostly comprised of returning Fire (EXTRA) and All-Star teams. Teams may expand roster under Area Q guidelines and region approval.

Spring Select teams may participate in tournaments, including the Area Q Spring Classic Tournament in May.
