Tustin AYSO Region 96

Tustin AYSO Programs

Tustin AYSO offers several soccer programs for players of varied ages and abilities. Our soccer programs run year round starting in Fall, the start of our membership year, and ending in Summer, the close of our membership year.

Core Program

This is the primary program of Tustin AYSO that includes all ages and most players.  Teams are put together in a way that makes playing soccer about the experience, not wins or losses. It’s not about blowing out another team with an unbelievable score; it’s about sportsmanship and learning to be the best possible team mate and opponent. Developing players is what we’re about, because soccer skills and life skills go hand in hand. Tustin AYSO’s main purpose is to get kids on the field, provide them with good coaches, and teach them to play soccer.

VIP Program

Tustin AYSO is proud to offer a very special program for children and adults with physical or mental disabilities. Our VIP (Very Important Player) program provides a safe, fun environment with trained coaches and volunteers who facilitate an enriching experience that the players and their families will cherish forever. Buddies assist during the games in which players learn soccer while meeting new friends, having fun and increasing skills and self-esteem. Players and their families, along with the volunteers, enjoy the complete AYSO experience – team uniforms, scoring goals, cheering from the sidelines, and the list goes on!

Advanced Play Program (APP)

Our advanced play program is designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities and to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit and organization of AYSO.

Winter Season Programs

All-Stars Program

The best players from the Fall standard primary program are invited for an opportunity to play together in competition with other regions. These teams are formed in November and play in January and February. Please visit our Advanced Play section for more information. Players must have played in the Fall standard Core program. EXTRA players are not eligible.

All-Star champions are invited to play in the Section 11 Tournament in February or March. Section 11 Tournament champions advance to the California State Championships in March.

Spring Season Programs

Core Program

March to May
Under-5 to Under-14

This is an open-registration season from March to May where balanced teams are formed and runs similar in format to the Fall Core Program. One major difference is some travel as away games may actually be in nearby cities within Area Q.

Spring Select / Spring EXTRA Program

March to May
Under-8 to Under-19

The spring select / EXTRA season involves ages Under-9 and older and runs from March to May. This is a select league where teams are formed by the coaches. Each coach must first be approved to have a spring team by the Advanced Play coordinator. The coaches have final authority on who is invited to join the team and the method of choosing those players. These teams will sometimes continue playing into the Summer as tournament or travel teams participating in tournaments.

VIP Program

March to May
All ages 4 years and older

For players who have special needs, we have our VIP program. These games are played on Sunday afternoons starting in mid-March and ending in mid-May. This program invites all persons of any age. Please visit our VIP section for information.

Summer Season

Core Program

June and July
Under-5 to Under-14

The Summer season is a five-week program in June and July open to all players aged Under-14 and younger. This is a great way for one who has never played to get a taste of the game. Two games are played each week in the evenings, usually at 5:30 or 6:45 PM. Boys play Monday and Wednesday, while girls play Tuesday and Thursday.  Weekends are kept free, and once games begin, there are no practices.  Summer is for fun and skills development!
