It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved former Regional Commissioner, Hank Nunez.  Tustin AYSO Region 96 grew to be one of the largest regions in the country and the largest region in central Orange County largely because of his tireless and dedicated volunteer work for over 25 years.  During that time, Hank volunteered as a coach, referee, and board member from 1991 until 2006.  He served as the Regional Commissioner from 1995 until 2003.

In addition to volunteering countless hours to the players and families in Tustin AYSO, Hank served on the board of the Tustin Education Fund, the City of Tustin Parks and Rec Commission, and helped establish lacrosse as a permanent and growing sport in our community.  He will be sorely missed.

As many of you know, Hank had been suffering from a stroke for some time.  We are relieved that his passing was peaceful and painless.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Beckman High School.  Thank you to all those who helped plan and attend the service.
