All matches for all divisions are single elimination.
If there is tie at the end of regulation all matches except the championship matches will go immediately to FIFA Kicks From The Penalty Mark (aka penalty kicks) to determine a winner. Please remember that only those players remaining on the field at end of regulation can take part in the kicks to determine a winner.
Championship matches will play two full 5-minute extra time periods (not sudden victory). If there is still no winner after extra time then the match will go to FIFA Kicks From The Penalty Mark (aka penalty kicks).
Minimum playing time for the Mayor's Cup is 2 quarters as part of the published region policy: Playing Time in Tustin AYSO.
Each player on the 1st and 2nd place teams will receive a medal, and a (one) trophy is presented to the team.
The finalists (1st and 2nd place) in each division will advance to the Area Q playoffs. The Area Q playoffs will take place in December and is currently scheduled to complete by Sunday, December 16th. Please note that schedules may change. The champion of the Area Q tournament will represent Area Q in the Section 11 Championships in late Feburary or early March. The Section 11 Champions advance to the California State Championships typically played in March.
Any and all decisions of a tournament director and/or the regional commissioner are final. This may include the automatic promotion of the higher seeded team if games are canceled for any reason and rescheduling is not possible.
